Dr. Berger is well-known for his work with keratoconus patients. Keratoconus, a progressive thinning of the cornea, is the most common corneal dystrophy in the United States.  Serving Tampa Bay area cornea patients for over 20 years, and founder of a leading cornea practice in Florida, Dr. Berger has seen and successfully treated thousands of patients with keratoconus.

Avedro, Inc., an ophthalmic pharmaceutical and medical device company who received FDA approval in 2016 for corneal cross-linking, publishes the “Living With Keratoconus” blog, an online journal documenting keratoconus patients’ “journeys” as they live and cope with this eye condition that affects 1 in every 2000 Americans. Avedro approached Dr. Berger because of his successes using corneal cross-linking, a medical procedure that combines the use of ultra-violet (UV) light and riboflavin (vitamin B2) eye drops, to save the vision of his keratoconus patients. Three of Dr. Berger’s patients are featured in the blog and they all give high praises to him for saving their vision. Here are their stories…
