Meet the Bay Area Eye Institute Team

Gina Woods
Gina Woods has been in the medical field for 17 years, and has spent more than 9 of those years specializing in ophthalmology.
She joined the Bay Area Eye Institute in October of 2009, and has been instrumental in the practice’s growth.
Born and raised in the Tampa Bay area, Gina thrives off of being able to provide the community with the best quality of eye care.

Lisa Oliveri, COA, ABOC
Lisa Oliveri joined the Bay Area Eye Institute in June of 2015 as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. A native of Long Island, New York, she has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of Ophthalmology and Optometry.
Lisa specializes in scleral contact lens fittings, assisting patients in finding the proper eyewear and educating patients on eye care.
In her spare time she volunteers her time and services to several non-profit organizations. These include the Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps, Great Shapes! Inc. and the Professional Opticians of Florida , where she provides CE courses for scleral contact lenses.
She is happily married, with three children who reside in New York.

Myra Fleming, COT
Myra joined the Bay Area Eye Institute in 2019 with 15 years experience as an ophthalmic technician.
In addition to working full time she is currently working on her college degree.
A single mother of 3, Myra enjoys volunteering at her church.

Samuel Jacobs, COT
Sam Jacobs joined Bay Area Eye Institute in 2019 with eight years experience in Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmic Technician.
He lives and spends most his time in Clearwater, FL with his wife and two dogs.
When he is not working he likes to play guitar and ride his mountain bike.

Daquori Traina
After 6 years of working as a front desk receptionist for a local optometry office, Daquori Traina joined the Bay Area Eye institute in 2018.
A Tampa native for life, she enjoys crafting, reading and spending time with her family and pets during her free time.

Giovonni Gonzalez
Giovonni Gonzalez was hired as a front desk attendant at the Bay Area Eye Institute in August of 2016. After mastering that position in only 2 years he was promoted to the position of surgical coordinator.
As our current Surgical Coordinator, Gio enjoys helping patients step-by-step throughout their scheduling process, to ensure their surgery goes smoothly.
A Tampa Native, Gio enjoys all things animals, and in his pastime, is an Animal Educator and breeds exotic animal species.
He is currently studying Animal Biology at the University of South Florida with plans to study veterinary medicine.

Lisandra (Lisy) Luva
Lisy joined the Bay Area Eye Institute team as a front desk receptionist in October of 2018.
She brings with her more than six years experience in the medical field.
She was born and raised in the Bay Area and enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Stephanie Blake, COA, OSC
Stephanie is originally from Bakersfield California, she moved to Tampa in the Summer of 2020. She accepted a position with Bay Area Eye Institute in September of the same year.
Stephanie’s journey began in Ophthalmology in 1994. She spent the last 20 years of her career with the same ophthalmology group prior to her move to Tampa.
She lives and spends most of her time in New Tampa with her husband. In her spare time she loves to travel fish and spend time with the family and fur babies. Her goal is to travel the world.

Casey Cornelius
Casey was born in Queens, New York and has lived most of her life in Tampa, Florida. She is New to the medical field just graduating from Concorde Career institute in June 2021. She is family oriented and spends most of her free time at the beach or poolside with her 2 boys who are her whole world.
